The public outcry over the harassment of the cricketers has intensifies over the last few days as many have started to express their dissatisfaction over the way the investigations of the allegations surrounding the fixing of the Final of the word cup 2011.
Last week, former sports minister alleged that he has credible evidence to prove that the Final of the World Cup 2011 was fixed.
He later came out and said he has only a doubt about it and later went on to produce some documents to the special investigation unit of the Sports ministry.
The police investigation unit questioned former minister visiting his home while the former players are being summoned one by one starting with Aravinda de Silva, Upul Tharanga and then the former captain Kumar Sangakkara.
There are media reports emerge that next in line is Former Captain Mahela Jayawardene who was the deputy to Sangakkara at the World Cup 2011
Many public figures including Former Sports Minister Harin Fernando, Leader of Samagi Jana Balawegaya Sajith Premadasa and Former MP Namal Rajapakse have criticised the way the investigations are carried out.
The international media carried the news as featured news in sports pages bringing disrepute to the much loved cricketers and the nation as a whole.
