Pakistan has offered 1,000 scholarships for Sri Lankan students for higher studies.
Allama Iqbal scholarships have been offered under the Sri Lanka – Pakistan Higher education scheme. The scholarships include five year degree programs, masters degree and PhD programs in Engineering, Social Sciences, and Natural Sciences.
Students will be provided with accommodation allowance, tuition fees, student payment and return airtickets. More female students will be enrolled under this scheme.
The above information was conveyed by the Pakistan Ambassador to Sri Lanka Rtd. Major General Mohamed Saad Sadak today, 26 June 2020 when he met Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa at temple trees.
The Ambassador also explained the mobile library project that Pakistan is willing to implement inside the Colombo city.
Prime Minister welcomed the idea of mobile libraries and requested to extend the programme to other province’s well.
Bilateral relations and other matters were discussed during the meeting. The Pakistan Ambassador assured the fullest support of his government to the people of Sri Lanka.
