President Meets Ambassadors of European Union

The Ambassadors of the European Union who are in Colombo met President Gotabaya Rajapaksa today (18 June) at the Presidential Secretariat.

The discussion revolved around the economic revival Post Covid19. President Rajapakse emphasized that Sri Lanka utilised it’s Health sector expertise to tackle the pandemic at it’s inception.

Testing and Tracing was effectively performed by the Public Health Inspectors with the assistance of the security forces and the Police, he further said.

He mentioned that the current economic growth is very low, the next task is to develop the economy and the national debt levels have increased.

He further mentioned that with the current scenario, debt write off will be an immense assistance to Sri Lanka.

The delegate discussed positively about the European Union response in the economic revival of Sri Lanka.
